Interesting video (and viewer comments). I agree with a lot of the posts that the video serves several purposes, one of which is probably recruiting. I inferred that the training was more of a defensive nature; one of the technical aspects that was mentioned was that of vulnerability assessments. The offensive nature of the 39th IOS training was not mentioned; but I didn`t think it would be. Inform your enemies of your tactics and positioning ? Not a good idea. I am heartened that there is a recognition of the need for advanced technical training and a commitment of resources to meet the challenge of the cyber world.

I always thought about other countries like China and North Korea training government-sponsored hackers. This video shows me the USA does it too. I always thought we were more like Russia who has a great university system that produces hackers who then can't find legitimate cyber security jobs.

It is great that the US military is training their own people in cyber security. Because everything is run by computers and connected to a network, all these elements become vulnerable and any unauthorized access could be devastating. I am just wondering how much they can learn about cyber security in 9-week program.

I will agree with many of the other comments. Great promotional video for the US Air Force. I do like how they push there students to get civilian certifications. Not only is the a transferable item that is tangible after leaving the service; it pushes to create core competencies for their personnel. I am so used to hearing push the envelope or be on the tip of the spear to be in the action or in operations. I have not heard the comment, that referenced being on the envelope of turbulence infant of the wing as the new frontier of mission or operations.

I found this video pretty interesting, made me feel like I wanted to be in the armed forces. I liked the enthusiasm towards pushing students beyond their limits in order to be the best. It seems like the cyber training is a never ending training a good profession for someone who enjoys constantly learning new things. A tough position definitely because I am learning that everyone is really on the same playing field with the same tools and tactics but what is relevant today is constantly changing.
