I agree! We need to educate the younger generations on this too since they are using more technology at such early ages.

    1. Guns and Drugs on the Deep Web Discussion: from Motherboard Summary – Skip this one a poor 60 minutes type review by Tom Littlewood as moderator. • Deep web – is underground network using different funds like BitCoin • Discussion with Karsten Nohl in Germany – a white hat hacker • Need to use encryption and other TLS techniques to protect information • Meet Drug dealers and gun runners on line and set up “meets/exchanges” • German rules and policies appear to allow and respect people’s rights at a much different level than US policy. • Discussion of Torproject.org and rationale and motives • Other interview of a Techno political situations in Iran and other countries. Talks about monitoring people and monitoring by authorities. • Deep web allows people to be anonymous and provides a choice – says the moderator.

A more personal perspective of the Dark Web that was discussed in video number two. Tools like TOR that allow Internet users to remain anonymous created strange bedfellows. The NSA contractor leaks created a whole new culture of millions of law abiding citizens from countries around the world who simply want their communications to remain anonymous and private sharing “cyberspace” with the deepest and darkest criminals engaged in the most nefarious activities including illicit drug and firearms dealing. Criminals will be criminals, and the will always find a way to circumvent the law. The United States purports to be the greatest nation in the world in the terms of personal freedoms. However, the Iranian gentlemen makes a good point, has the surveillance state created in the post 9/11 era put the US government on the same level as Iran?

This video scares me! I mean, Jenna24 is correct in that she states that we need to educate the younger generations on this since they are using more technology at such early ages, but we also have to be careful and mindful of the fact that these young minds are also like sponges that will never dry form the information that they are exposed to not to mention the intentions they develop from such information. gmazur said it correctly when they stated that criminals will be criminals. And for the US Government to develop such a tool as Tor, only enables them to do so much more and on a much more global scale that they pretty much played themselves out of a way to be able to track down and stop these people. Now do I believe in surveillance? Of course, but not to the extent that it becomes profitable to one party and not the other. Not when it doesn't give the ones being watched the opportunity to decline to being spied on when there is no legal justification to do so. I feel as though Edward Snowden was out of place for what he did. This country relied on him to keep our secrets secret and he only made those who were not aware or not as much aware of what was going on a tip that used as a warning to then go underground or "going dark" and now, we may not have such a huge leap on being to stop the next 9/11 from happening.
