jnegronat January 26,2016 Today, if you have a smart device, expect no privacy. These days anything can be hack. Companies are more worried about pushing the product not on locking down their internal systems nor the security of it.
rburkettat February 05,2016 I would love to be in the room with the designers of this website as they develop it for the criminal element. The whole concept of creating a user-friendly search engine for the black market seems comical and yet I really like the idea of being able to pick and choose what gets searched - so I applaud the functionality. It just shows that good design transcends criminal behavior.
CCotton10at February 10,2016 The darknet looks like it could be a dangerous place. The video does need to be longer to tell more about what is going on with these sites. It seems that people may be more inclined to do illegal things if they feel they can do so anonymously. The fact that it looks like you can get passports and social security numbers easily could have serious implications.
tcmahonyat February 11,2016 If you notice in the video the "darknet marketplaces" that this search engine searches through, the URLs are not typical easy to remember addresses. I believe this is do to the way that web sites are hosted on Tor and how they are able to be anonymous. From my understanding the .onion address are sites hosted on Tor and there address are supposed to randomly generated. Clearly some of the sites were able to random generation of URLs and have some sort of unique identifier in the URL so it would be easier to access like the Silk Road.
fpazdzinat February 16,2016 It’s really interesting how simple this search engine is. With all of the technology and software that’s already out there, it’s really easy to just make a copy of something and then modify it to fit your needs. Or even just take an idea and apply it towards something illegal. I really don’t see any way to stop the service that the Darknet provides. We just need to try and stop the ones who are looking and paying for these services.
