I agree with @jczarny. I think one of the most interesting parts of this video is them stating that the average cyber heist averages millions while a typical bank robbery averages thousands. I think there is just so much about the cyber crime community we don’t know about and it would be ignorant of us to underestimate a criminal’s abilities when it’s mixed with criminal intent and greed. Just like the video stated, we do not hear about these types of crimes because of how it can harm a company’s reputation – so it makes you wonder what else can be happening that we are unaware of. I think that If Alberto didn’t get greedy, he would probably be at large.

Child exploitation and sex tourism is rampant in modern society. Aggressive enforcement is the only way to put a stop to it. Plus, it takes partnerships with many countries, including those where the children are being exploited (Thailand, Philippines, etc.). Open brothels exist in these countries and law enforcement in these areas simply turn a blind eye.

This is a really disturbing crime. It's easy for pedophiles to logon to the Internet and solicit minors and get photos. I really liked the video that looks at the problem from a public policy perspective rather than the sensationalism from that "To Catch a Predator" show, which just kind of about making good TV rather than taking a deep look at the problem and the people affected by it.

I don`t think it would qualify as entrapment as posed by several posters here. The are not being enticed to any actions, they initiate the solicitation on their own. The real question should be, if the "victim" is not a real person, was there a crime ? Now, watching the video, I did come away with the sense that the crime involved did NOT involve the virtual victim. The "On 4 November, we turned over dossiers on 1,000 to Interpol" is telling. I postulate that the Terre des Hommes project is just the begining of catching the perpetrators in the act of live victim sex tourism. It appears that the use of a virutal victim could be a good investigative tool to capture identities, log on habits and patterns .
