This is interesting, but not surprising. One of the reasons why cyber robberies aren't publicized, I think, is because it would compromise the confidence of consumers who shop online, or provide payment information to retailers. There is a lot of profit to be lost, and restoring public faith is no easy task. Just hypothesizing but it seems likely.

I did more research on the guy arrested in this video, Alberto Gonzales. Very interesting to read that even after he was arrested he continued to perform cybercrime, while being a government informant. I would think the government would keep a closer eye on this guy, especially with his history of not only hacking but drugs. It seems he was just a very deceptive guy. A lot of the articles on him say that he betrayed so many friends, those that he made while working for the government as well as his loyalty to the hackers “black hats” who he would sell out. I think whatever time he is serving is well deserved as he goes down in history as performing the largest cyber heist. An interesting point the video made was these crimes are not too often spoke about because of the reputation of the financial institutions. I can understand that, because I think if people knew what type of danger their money was in with a company they would no longer feel secure with these companies. I know that would make me extremely worried knowing someone could easily get my financial information.

Interesting video. While I understand the financial sector's desire to keep things quite, the user should really be aware of the risks they are taking with their money.

Amazing to think that one individual, albeit a very savy one, has the ability to sabotage the financial systems of this country and proceed to steal over 43 million credit card numbers from consumers. Stories such as this are somewhat surprising given the amount of data that he was able to steal, but it goes to show how far we have to go in order to secure such systems.

very scary wow, a fisher of credit cards. I wonder where he got this criminal thinking and technology? He hacks into stores' wireless networks and steal customers' credit cards information. I wonder whether he thinks that he was never going to be caught and what he is doing with such a huge sum of money. I really think such people needs a psychiatric evaluation and testing. Something is not right.
