Great video, ever since seeing the massive surveillance system in The Dark Knight circa 2008 where they turned every phone in the city into a sonar node, this has been on my mind. I think its so crazy that we all spend most of our day staring into a camera that is attached to an internet connected device. The problem is only going to get worse thanks to BlackBerry's epic collapse. I believe diversity and more competition in the operating system marketplace would provide more security ... but right now it looks like iOS and Android will have the world in their hands for a while.

I always wondered how people would do that. Now that I see it is done via app, I wonder if any of the apps I downloaded could be malicious. It’s actually wasn’t too hard to hack into someone’s mobile and obtain all that information by sending few text messages. Amazed by the process but also frighten to know if we are safe at all. This video makes you aware how we all can be a victim of the cybercrime on mobile. This shows how easily someone can obtain all of our whereabouts from some simple clicks and setups.

This was great snippet about the dangers that are posed to cell phone holders while also addressing way to protect yourself from these dangers. I read statistic--I think in Newsweek--that found there were more cell phones than people in the world. A number that has jumped significantly in the last ten years. I also noticed that they touched on how cyber criminals follow the money but they didn't really explain the dangers of the most current trend--the cell phone wallet/Apple Pay.Although this method of payment is found to be fairly secure there is still a danger of having your credit cards and other bank information on you phone. Something as simple as leaving you phone unattended or left behind could cause a lot more damage then in the past. Mobile security is definitely a major concern for cyber security and it will be interesting to see how things progress.

This was good. Makes me think about specializing in Mobile forensics. With applications there is so much going on no one would know if there device is compromise.

Smartphones are available everywhere. Younger kids now have their own smartphones and tablets. I don’t people take the time to pay attention to permission request of each app downloaded. Majority of these apps want to have access to location, camera, etc. You wonder who is listening to your conversations or watching.
