This video is a little cheesy but does a good job of hammering home the point about the security and exploitation of mobile devices and applications. Everyone needs to become better aware of social engineering and the ways malicious users try to gain access into your personal data.

Easy as a click. Smart phones are the new targets. Malicious individuals try to get information from you. They use the smart phone features to spy on you. How? Well, when you download an App from an unknown source, or developer. You are given the way to these guys. Therefore, secure your device. Put a password, check developers' reputation, download from trusted sources, and install a security application. With these things you'll be ok.

a lot of people have smartphones so it makes sense that criminals would target phones. Its strange to think about a virus on your phone, but its happening more and more. I think that security on smartphones will become more advanced to protect against threats like this. I know that Apple is really strict about what goes on their app store. But i think it is easier for people to take advantage of the Google play store.

Attacks on smartphones were just a matter of time. Criminals know users are moving from PCs to smartphones and you have to move to where the most potential victims could be. Almost everyone has a smartphone and that increases the potential profit a hacker can make from infection just 1-5% of the smartphones. Making an app and selling on the android market or apple app store is rather smart because people trust the two stores. They think hey no one's going to sell a malicious app. Keep thinking that. There's always someone out there that wants to make money easy and fast instead of working long hours.
