jhilldog77at November 20,2015 I really had no idea; the identity thief made it looks so easy with just a couple pieces of equipment. Some banks have gone to chip based cards but I'm sure the criminals will find a way around that too. Biometrics may be the only true defense; fingerprint ID like ApplePay or in the future retinal scans could be the key to defeating the skimmers.
zsesayat November 22,2015 Oh my God, what is happening in the world? I wonder how many of these thieves that are floating in the world. A match trip reader storing 500 numbers. There is a huge job for Forensic examiner out there to catch these thieves. I guess this guy is so very tired of stealing or he had been caught and have asked to expose others. The others might have used another technology to move on with their motives
gcorkerat November 29,2015 It's crazy how easy it is to create fake credit cards. It would have been interesting to see how they got the information in the first place, e,g., how they place the skimmer to get all the numbers.
bmanahan188at November 29,2015 It’s crazy to see the process behind and actual use of stolen credit card data. The person that does this type of crime in the video appears to be very tense, and he probably should be. I wonder what the process was like to actually get him to agree to be filmed, although it is in a very limited capacity. The cashier is way too trusting and should have examined the card more and asked for identification.
aholcom2at December 03,2015 This was a very disturbing video as it showed how easy it is to create fake credit cards with stolen credit information. Even though it was pretty neat to see the reporter document and report on how that credit thief created fake credit cards, I was kind of hoping the guy caught! I hope the reporter would have called the police after the story and report the guy, but I would understand if he didn’t. Still its crazy that the guy was able to create those fake cards with such simple tools.
