As with many criminal enterprises - greed and stupidity will result in the downfall of the organization. Justice is served when someone who talks like they are the smartest criminal in the world is standing before a federal judge who has just handed out a life prison sentence with no possibility of parole - and this 'bad ass' is now a whining crying baby.

The Tor Network has always been at the root of many criminal websites over the years. This is a very good outline of the Silk Road marketplace. There is no doubt this took a lot of manpower and resources, but the man hunt will never end. These dark net sites will continue to grow, especially when the economy is down as jobs are hard to find, and hacking can be done with only the expense of time and a decent laptop.

What an awesome video on Silk Road case. It was like watching a suspense movie! Loved it and I definitely know much more about how those dark webs are operating now. Just sad to hear about the statistics on how much FBI spent in resources to only have even more dark webs similar to Silk Road start to pop up right after taking down one. It’s just a never ending battle.

I agree @Emmereet, it is a never ending battle. I believe that is what makes it difficult to prevent websites like Silk Road from thriving. People are always going to be looking for this type of website and finding ways to maintain anonymity - that's probably one of the worst things about the internet. As law enforcement cracks down on one website, five more are being created and becoming available to take it's place. I'm sure we'll be seeing more and more cases like this in the future.
