Great story, I had heard about the Silk Road on the news and I've always wanted to hear the story behind it. I don't really understand what the whole assassination plot was this the CreepyChemist guy. If there was no record of there being an actual person of the guy that Ross Ulbricht thought he was talking to, then either two things happened: 1) CreepyChemist and RedAndWhite are actually the same person whom faked his own death and cashed in $150 thousand dollars or 2) RedAndWhite realized the information given to him by Ross Ulbricht was total bullshit then contacted the CreepyChemist and made an agreement to split the money if he'd just stop contacting Ross. I think the thought of there being internet assassins is crazy. I'm paranoid enough as it is. Why would someone want to do business in an environment like this, I don't know.

Brief and very good introduction to Silk road and how it came down. I don't get the whole chemist assassination plan is related to rise and fall of silk road. There are other market places in dark net already stood up. The amount of resources , man power and money it required to take down essentially. one person running a market place is just crazy.

Very interesting video. As every criminal, even DPR made a number of mistakes and got caught. It may be true that five more servers like Silk Road are working right now; however, these guys will be more careful in making mistakes. If it took two years to catch DPR, hopefully it will take much faster to catch the new ‘DPRs’.

Well done informative video. That the bad guys are industrious is evident; close one site, they will more to another. That`s what keeps law enforcement in business and needed. The criminal mind and the rationalizations for their activity are indeed fascinating. I wonder if there is not a "backdoor" into the Tor "network" that law enforcement may have access to (encryption algorithms, keys, or ?). I await more news stories of law enforcement successes. I like real life tales of intrigue better than the "reality" shows on pay TV.

I can't help but love logybomb's comment speaking to the point of the assassination plot, or lack thereof. However, this entire video just screams Hollywood and it's hard for me to believe that this kind of stuff happens in real life. Ross Ulbricht apparently had a lot of skill and it's unfortunate that he used it (as cliche as it sounds) for the dark side. And what an amateur mistake to use self-identifying information that leads cops to your front door, or in his case a library! I bet he wishes he could take back those keystrokes. Definitely my favorite video in the gallery so far.
