It is amazing how far malware has come in history. I believe malware continues to get sophisticated as technology changes. I have never seen or heard of malware on a floppy disk. This is interesting!

Malware is never ending when in comes to newer technologies out in the market. There have been multiple cases of malware being spread out from external devices but in the world where CD-ROM are eroded out seeing malware on a floppy drive is really surprising. Overall the video is interesting enough to teach how the times have changed especially when it comes to technology. It seems a drastic change on how we have moved to the era of cloud computing.

When people compare malware to a biological infection I find this is a really great way to summarize many of the extents of it. Like the speaker said it could stop railroads, infect thousands of hosts or a single host. It can be destructive on unrecoverable scale or take patchwork. The new exploits also often build on old ones, reusing code to suit the hackers purposes. Concerning the future, I wonder how much malware will effect people since the web of tech users has grown substantially and continues too. With the IoT, we also have already seen exploits that effect these devices like a home security system or a car. But, I think looking at the history we can learn a lot about how we approach future security problems.

Watching this video just reiterates how far we have come through the years with technology. Looking at the first virus on the floppy disk to the outdated visual virus graphics is evidence of what can happen through the years. I wonder what is going to come of technology in the near future and what possible attacks might also be formed.

The malware has evolved drastically over the years from just being harmless to bring damage to the device and also to steal critical information. This video provides a timeline view of this change took place.
