Really interesting video, and definitely interesting to see how the ideologies of the writers of malware themselves have changed over time. Just shows how the world has become a different place, and how cyber, once the domain of enthusiasts and those trying to spread a particular message or do research, has now become the domain of nation states and criminal organizations. Really educational...but wish the video wasn't so long :p

This was actually the most interesting video I watched thus far. The ability to see the progression and the types of attacks from Brain, a simple virus infecting a PC based off of a floppy disk all the way through Suxtnet which was destroying centrifuges, and in conjunction of other methods like ransomware all displayed the importance of knowing older and newer technologies. The differences of being up front about a virus to now virus going undetected as a cash grab is also interesting. Also, seeing how some of the similarities despite the progression was also interesting. So something as simple as plugging a floppy disk and/or a usb drive can still pass viruses is still an attack used throughout time. I personally appreciated this presentation as it also explained it in laymen’s terms so that everyone, including those who are not in IT per se could understand the implications, but also how to protect themselves.

This was probably the most interesting video I have watched out of the bunch. The complete history (up to 2011) about the evolution of malware. Starting with 1986 Brain.A and to the first malware to demand money Fizzer. I learned a lot about how these types of malware affected computers.

This was a very informative vide. The speaker has a great deal of knowledge in malware, viruses, and intrusion. Beginning in the video it was interesting to hear how he found one of the first viruses made which was on a floppy. Have to agree with @Michael_King, virus on a floppy? Who thinks of that now a days, most of floppy is not used at all. I don't know when was the last time I seen a floppy. It is quite interesting. A good sense of humor as well, when explaining the different types of malware/viruses. The crazy part is he explained from A to Z and from where it started and the progression made till now. I did not know it went back this far, and so much has been created up to this point. The history of Defcon is something to read to believe. Very interesting video to see the history of Malware and the progression made.
