DEF CON 18 - Jackpotting Automated Teller Machines Redux
multarncat November 09,2017 It is amazing what a little bit of easily accessible tech can do for even an average hacker. While I have not had much hands-on experience with Arduino and systems like it, I have read extensively about them. Presentations like this should be eye opening. Even the most basic security measures will protect against things like war driving. With devices becoming smaller and smarter, we will soon be broadcasting everything about ourselves and our homes out to the world, available for anyone with basic technology to capture and use however they see fit. Pet trackers are becoming increasingly common. Before long, it will be easy for hackers to inject code onto these devices, creating another vector for collecting data.
whillerat November 20,2017 Fun video. It's "Day of the Dolphin" for the Internet age. I applaud Gene Bransfield for his intelligence and tenacity to make his War Kitteh idea a reality. It's cool to find that so many components are readily available. I hope that in 2017 more people have secured their WiFi.
ABhandal2017at November 27,2017 This was an interesting video. First thing which I didn’t know was how a collar can have so much stuff in it. The lady gave the speaker a high tech collar that had GPS enabled on it, and had cellular date on it. That is crazy, and if she sends a message to it, she gets GPS coordinates where the pet is located. That is something else, I did not know even technology has been so advanced for pets. First time hearing about “Soldering, first thing learned BE CAREFUL AND DON’T HURT YOURSELF! Looks like it does hurt. Overall interesting video, the guy explained it in the most simplest way possible with a lot of humor. I must says the guy does know what he is saying and doing as well.
agoel5at December 02,2017 I really enjoyed watching this video, I learned how you can transform tech into simple collection devices or exploits, strap them to a dog or a cat and walk around. This guy lives in my area, will definitely need to be careful if i see a dog or a cat.
nparkeat December 03,2017 The presenter did an excellent job keeping the audience entertained and his way of explaining how he accomplished is project. The speaker did a good job explaining how he used a ridiculous idea to create projects that actually work. Its interesting to use something that people do not question or pay attention to, to perform their attack or reconnaissance.
