Difficult to follow up, a lot of technical details, but it is worth while to watch. I never though some one(police) is listing our communication. So where is our privacy law or freedom of speech kikes in? I know the Government in other country have a special agency to to spy in the conversation of citizens. Always good idea to keep in mind someone my find ways to access to our data, better to take necessary precaution

This is interesting topic. I came across IMSI term related to the phone unlock feature but didn’t know what that was for. But this demo is crazy that just connecting to the network, the speaker can essentially do anything to the cell phone. Not too long ago, I have had phone battery drainage issue and I didn’t think a virus could have gotten or people could list to my voice calls etc. I had to deactivate a lot of app just so this doesn’t happen. And some apps I don’t recognize and that did help the battery drainage a bit. But the speaker explains about the GSM Neighbours and how each BTS knows other towes within the range and the channels it monitors which are pretty good information any attacker can use.

I remember reading an article years ago on how this presentation led to BTS being created on the cheap throughout Africa and Australia's outback. It was a good explanation of GSM. If NORTEL did not fold up there would be Pair to Pair phones. Which would not require a BTS.

Great video in 2010 yet I still don't have a switch on my phone to turn off 2G. I would also like that warning that tells me I'm not on an encrypted network. We are at 4G yet can still be forced down to 2G.
