Different from the first tutorial video, this one shows how to find the correct password, which is really impressed to me. I felt like this world does really have no secret, and there is always a way to discover it. I agree with JSahm151 that this tool can be used for both good and bad. I am thinking the law enforcement can develop some regulations on the application of these smart software, making sure they were used in a legal way to detect cybercrime.

I definitely could see this being useful with penn testing or as a tool for the forensic analyst with password cracking as needed.

@ahmed - though of course reverse engineering itself can be illegal :) It's funny that we always think of obfuscation as used by malware authors, but legit software companies are also very interested in keeping their code out of the hands of others

This is the second part of the Ollydbg tutorial explaining how to crack a password. This tool could be very useful when performing a forensic analysis without knowing the users password of an application.

Ollydbg seems pretty powerful. It could definitely be useful during investigations. I assume if you used this on another program it might return the MD5 hash of the password, so you would still need to crack it.
